Library

Library is a Temple of Knowledge. Library is housed with 15362 volumes of Books and Back volumes. Of these 2211 are Back volumes of Journals and Reporters. The Library Procures 91 periodicals including 10 newspapers. Of these 14 are reporters, 44 Journals and remaining are the magazines.

Library has bar-coded all the books and reference materials. It is having automated circulation system. Library has also provided OPAC (Open Public Access Catalogue) to search the library books, research materials, periodicals and to learn more about the library. Library also provides photocopying facility.

The library is an active member of the Shri Narayana Rao Melgiri Library, National Law School of India University, Bangalore, to facilitate students for higher research.

LibraryLibrary Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday : 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
LibraryPolicies:

Policies of the library will apply to all the library patrons: Teaching and Non Teaching Faculty, Students and visitors. Library authorities can withdraw the library services to the particular user on violation of Library Policies and for misconduct by the user.

  • Student Identity card is compulsory to avail the services of the library.
  • Users are requested to avoid conversation and discussion that will disturb other readers. Library hall is meant for individual study only.
  • Users should not disturb the arrangement of furniture.
  • Use of Cell Phone is strictly prohibited in the library.
  • Library users are requested to not to reshelf the materials (Books, Journals, etc.): the library staff will do it for you.
  • Books and Bound Volumes should be handled with care.
  • Defects found in the Books and Bound Volumes should be brought to the notice of the library personnel immediately.
  • Pages of the Books and Bound Volumes should not be folded to serve as book Marks.
  • Disfiguring and marking the pages of library books with ink or pencil is prohibited.
Over dues /Fines:

  • Overdue Books are charged with Rs. 1 per day.
  • Users are charged with 5 times of the Cost of the Book/Material which is lost by them.
  • Reference Material issued if not returned before stipulated time, charged with the fine of Rs. 5/- per day.
  • Duplicate Borrower cards can be obtained by paying the fine of Rs.50/-.
Circulation Procedures:

  • Users can borrow Text Books for 8 working days. After due date user should renew the books in person.
  • Reference Books, Journals, Magazines, Reporters and Bound Volumes are only for reference in the library.


The bounds of knowledge are ever being widened. The printed book goes out of date the day it is published. So the library subscribes around 79 periodicals to meet the changes in the field of law in the current times.
Computer has made human life fairly easier. So also the functioning of the library. The library automation is completed. The software used is EASY-LIB.

Internet Lab

E- Library which is on par with all new technological developments is installed with 13 computers. To facilitate the legal research, Internet and regularly updated software facilities are extended to each system.  The College also provides the basic computer education to all students.
